Despite starting slow, West Ottawa easily beat Mona Shores in the Muskegon Area Sports Hall of Fame Classic by a score of 70-42. The Sailors led 8-2 at one point in the first quarter, but after that, it was all Panthers. West Ottawa went on a 20-2 run and never looked back, as they led 22-10 after 1 quarter and 42-22 at half to help seal the win. Despite the loss, Mona Shores coach Justin Johnson remained positive about the future but did say he hoped to get another scrimmage during Christmas break before the Sailors return to the court on January 2nd in the Cornerstone Holiday Tournament. The loss drops Mona Shores drops to 1-2 on the season.
