Nothing seemed to go Mona Shores way tonight, as Muskegon blew past them by a score of 94-49.
Every Big Red starter sat out almost the entire fourth quarter to give the backups a chance at some game action. Muskegon coach Keith Guy said about getting the reserves into the game “They come to practice every day and work just as hard as the top 8, so we wanted to make sure they get some playing time”
Jarvis Walker and Vern Nash both had huge performances for the Big Reds, as they posted 27 and 21 points respectively. When asked about how Walker and Nash can consistently play at that level, Guy said “That’s who they are, I think they’re the best one-two punch in the state when it comes to guards.”
The win brings Muskegon to 7-1 and drops Mona Shores to 2-8. Both teams have their next game at home on Tuesday night, as the Big Reds take on Fruitport and the Sailors face Jenison.
