What if I told you before the season that heading into week three, Muskegon Heights and Hart would have better records than Mona Shores, Muskegon, and Montague? As much as it feels like an alternate reality compared to most years, it’s the truth. The Tigers are off to their first 2-0 start since 2010, while the Pirates are off to their first 2-0 start since 2004. The Sailors, Big Reds, and Wildcats are all 1-1. Granted, I know the teams those three have lost to are among the best in the entire state, but it’s still crazy to think about at the current moment. It’s why people tune in week in and week out. You never know what will happen.

For the record, I’ll be the first to admit that last week was one of the worst weeks picking games we’ve ever had. I always tell people that want to bash our picks to “prove us wrong.” Last week, multiple schools stepped up to the plate and did just that. Congratulations to those schools that went against the odds.
