Muskegon-area football fans will have a tough time choosing what games to be at this Friday night. On one hand, you have Mona Shores taking on Zeeland West in their annual Sailor Salute game, one of the best military night traditions in the state that was greatly reduced due to Covid-19 last year. You also have one of our area’s best small-school rivalries this week, as Montague and Oakridge face off in a game that rarely has large scoring margins. Finally, you have Fruitport and Spring Lake playing each other in the “Battle of the Bayou” rivalry, as the winner of that game will take home the Bayou Paddle rivalry trophy. I wish I could split myself in three this week to see each of these, but we’re lucky to have so many great reporters on staff to make sure you don’t miss any of the action.
